Mean Girls . . . Part Deux

Ricky Williams came, saw, and went, all in the same night.

If anyone was watching the mucky mess that was Monday Night Football, then you, too, witnessed the return of Ricky Williams to the Miami Dolphins despite having tested positive several (ok, 4) times for marijuana.

Perhaps you also saw the second quarter when Pittsburgh Steelers' linebacker Lawrence Timmons step on Williams' shoulder as he was attempting to go after a fumble. Out went Williams, never to return again.

If you watch the replay (which I will post as soon as it becomes available), you can see Timmons' foot turns unnaturally out to the side and steps down on Williams' shoulder, even though the natural movement would have been to step with his foot facing straight ahead, thereby avoiding Williams' shoulder altogether. The official word is that he injured his pectoral muscle.

That was just cruel. Here's this guy who obviously has a problem - I say obviously because if the league and the teams thought he was just a weedhead, he would not be returning to the NFL - and you're just going to purposely try to injure him after the play is over? I don't say this often, maybe ever, but I really think the league should review this and fine him. It looked that blatant.

The Dolphins are bad enough as it is. On Monday night, they lose two more running backs to injury (Williams and Jesse Chatman), to add to their already depleted roster, and they just looked defeated. I really feel bad for them. It can't be fun to be in that locker room week after week.

The Steelers weren't doing much of anything themselves on that nasty field (the Steelers won the spectacular game 3-0), but no need to add insult to injury - literally.

Perhaps the NFL should also take some flak for letting the players play in such a mess and risk injury in the first place.
Steelers' QB Ben Roethlisberger called it the worse conditions that he has ever played in, and I think he was telling the truth. I actually saw a punt land in the field. Didn't bounce, didn't roll. Just landed, like he'd kicked a javelin. It's too easy to get hurt just playing the game without having to worry about the playing surface.

Timmons should get fined and suspended. Williams should have his lawyer contact timmons for compensation. Pittsburg PD should prosecute for assult. If I'm running along the street and there's some poor homeless guy lying in the gutter and I intentionally step on his shoulder thats assult. Prosecute. I can't believe the ESPN idiots calling the game just let it all slide by. If it had been one of the leagues big dollar stars like say Brady those clowns would have been doing the Colin Cowherd panties in a bunch rant. Fine, suspend, jail for assult.

NFL ethics. Dog fighting is bad. Intentionally stepping on and injuring a downtrodden player is A OK. ESPN ethics if we put on a suit and tie and ignore what's right in front of our dumb as a stump faces the dip dog-brain addled American viewers will ignore and parrot our empty headed drivel. But we speak loudly with authority. As the dead pile up in the middle east. Proud to be an American. Yeah.

Bonds didn't intentionally step on anyone and the Bush/Cheney criminals are prosecuting him. Timmons at least should be forced to watch ESPN adnauseum for a week much like that poor guy in "A Clockwork Orange" who was forced to watch debauchery. Best for Timmons to step on all of the ESPN gas bags in suits. Who would have thought that we'd ever miss Howard and Dandy Don. Amazing new low. I hate ESPN's stupid suit wearing numbskulls.

Timmons should be prosecuted for assult. Civil suit by Williams for Timmons salary is fair. Is the NFL going to praise Timmons for this? Probably. Right, and dog fighting is not OK.

Williams is a pot head. Stepping on him is good example setting. Some would say beat him with numbchucks to teach him a lesson. Pot leads to unsafe sex and communism. I think the NFL is right to turn it's head. We can call the Timmons guy the "Enforcer".

"Pot leads to unsafe sex and communism." Funniest display of stupidity I've ever read.

Seriously folks, Williams has to be THE most HARMLESS NFL player in the leauge. The man listed "sugar" as one of his addictions in addition to weed. Not steroids, not coke, not beating his significant other, but SUGAR!

For your reading pleasure, here is a clip of the transcript from his 60 Minutes interview a few years back...
"So you still smoke marijuana," Wallace says. Anything worse than that?"
"Worse? What do you mean by worse?" Williams says. "Sometimes I have sweets."
Wallace looks puzzled, as if that's some new term for an exotic, evil street drug.
"Sugar," Ricky says. "Sometimes I have a glass of wine. But that's about it."
"And steroids?"
"No, thank God, never needed to have. I was gifted. I've been very blessed that I never needed anything to help me play football."

Does that sound like a guy you deserved to get stepped on? Timmons is a bully, plain and simple.

This is a conspiracy of suppression. Corporate America which operates the broadcast, advertising and marketing of the NFL does not condone pot smoking......but massive booze n beer consumption is humorously promoted. Just dont drink and drive. F U. ESPN is as big a part of this as anything. Like the guy above said, Williams ought to sue Timmons in civil court. The NFL and ESPN and all sports fools claiming this was an accident are culpable scum. May they all stumble and bust a nut. Choke on your rich food you fowl smelling pigs.
